Call for Papers in the Social Capital Stream at the Sunbelt Conference 2024

Call for Papers in the Social Capital Stream at the 44th Conference of the International Network for Social Network Analysis (INSNA)

In June this year, in Edinburgh, Scotland, Edinburgh Business School (the business school of Heriot-Watt University) will host the 44th Conference of the International Network for Social Network Analysis (INSNA) from June 24 to June 30. Professor Heather McGregor, one of our directors, is on the organising committee, and they have created a ‘Social Capital’ stream of the conference that will take place on one of the conference days and will be co-branded in association with the International Social Capital Association.

The Social Capital sessions will commence with an invited panel looking at the role of social capital in overcoming structural disadvantage in the workplace. Panel members will include David Obstfeld, https://davidobstfeldphd.com/about-david/ founder of the Social Capital Academy. The panel will be followed by three separate sessions of presented papers on social capital. The panel will be recorded, but the paper sessions will only be in person.

The exact day has not yet been finalised, but it will be on one of 26/27/28/29 June. Papers are welcome from academics and practitioners alike and will be selected by the organising committee and the advisory panel from submissions of abstracts. The call for papers is here, and social capital papers should clearly indicate that they wish to be part of the social capital stream. Please note that the submission deadline will be extended to February 22.

If there is sufficient demand, an online session will also be staged on the 22nd or 23rd.

If you have any questions, please contact Heather directly at h.mcgregor@hw.ac.uk.
